  • In their own words

The WSU Children's Center programs offer comprehensive early education and care programs for children aged 6 weeks through 4th grade using the abundant resources afforded us by the Winona State University campus and community. Our classrooms are led by highly qualified professional staff and WSU students seeking professional licensure in education and related fields. Their energy and enthusiasm help create a vibrant environment for the children and families enrolled in our program.

The WSU Children's Center's program philosophy for children and their families has developed over time by paying attention to research and our own practice. Drawing from historical and emerging early childhood theories, we support each child's development through intentional relationships, a prepared environment, and customized activities meant to stimulate and nurture the child's natural curiosity. We use the Creative Curriculum and TS Gold assessment tools to plan, instruct, and guide the early learning and development of children in our program.
